Based in Birmingham, we have worked for a wide range of clients, major construction contractors, and industrial companies through to smaller private clients, both directly and via professional appointments. Established in 2002 by I an Preston. Our dedicated, loyal and growing team have considerable experience across a broad range of construction disciplines. This includes our own full complement of design professionals, co-ordinators and Project Managers to enable us to offer high quality Design & Build services as well as more traditional project solutions in all sectors. From large industrial buildings such as the completed works on Europe’s largest water treatment plant, to housing, schools, commercial offices, hotels, high security healthcare, prisons, rail and civil engineering projects. We are highly experienced in both new build projects and complex extension and refurbishment services.
The company has recently celebrated a decade of success and innovation and as well as being recognised as one of the top 90 businesses in Birmingham for employment and diversity and with a turnover circa £200 million, our business is in the top 100 construction companies in the UK.
Our achievements over the years, particularly in the areas of sustainability and employment, culminated in the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development. In addition we have achieved quality environmental and health and safety accreditations ISO 9001 : 2015, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Investors in Young People Gold Awards as well as EFQM Recognised for Excellence 4 Star Award.
We employ more than 2,200 people and support an estimated additional 2,000 people through our supply chain. The company is currently training 324 apprentices across all construction trades making us the largest employer of apprentices in Birmingham.
Our award winning training academies are the most successful apprentice training centres in Birmingham. The scale and flexibility of our multi-disciplinary workforce and broad experience allows us to deliver complex projects of all scope and size across a wide variety of built forms.
A new study by influential think tank the Fraser of Allander Institute has outlined the scale of our contribution to the economy. The report published in November 2016 reveals that City Building supports a turnover of nearly £325 million across companies in Glasgow. It also reveals that for every two jobs that City Building provides a further 1.44 jobs are created.
As a successful commercial business we have won in excess of £1.3 billion worth of contracts in open competition, with effective marketing playing a key role in the delivery of this success.
New excavator makes its entrance at Berny
AM&G Construction & Civil Engineering Company Staff New excavator makes its entrance at Berny The AM&G team are delighted with their latest acquisition, a Hyundai 260LC-9A excavator. This new 25 tonne machine is a tracked excavator which is equipped with a 1.5cu.m bucket, enabling material to be dug and moved with great efficiency. This new piece of kit also benefits from having a greater lifting capacity than its predecessor, and will be of great use when undertaking future deep drainage works. The excavator is now hard at work on the Phase 2 Reclamation Scheme of the Barratt David Homes development at Berny
